2006 Canadian Open Poker Championship
This year's Canadian Open Poker Championship will take place in Alberta at the Stampede Casino in Calgary. The first prize poker winner will receive $250 000 CAD and the runner up will receive $125 000 CAD. The no-limit Texas Hold'em tournament has a $5 000 buy-in and will begin on 9th of March and will end on the 12th.
It is limited to only 128 players. There will be qualifying events at the casino during the month of January. The competition will have a "heads up" format, where players go head to head and the winner advances to the next round.
